This is a mini-sized woodblock print originally created for a calendar of the time, published by Chikuho-do. This handmade print makes a perfect decoration for a small space or a charming gift for someone special.

As a migratory bird, it is a familiar sight in Japan, visiting coastlines, tidal flats, river mouths, and other areas across much of the country. It looks especially striking against a neutral-colored background.
