- Yugure no Neko (Cats in Dusk) -

The lovely woodblock print “Yugure no Neko” (Cats in Dusk) is by Tomoo Inagaki (1902–1980). The print portrays two adorable cats against a sunset backdrop. The upper bodies of the cats, with their large yellow eyes, are prominently depicted against a softly colored background, making their presence stand out and enhancing the modern yet charming atmosphere of the artwork. This print brings a warm feeling to any room.

The sheet number is 140/200, and the title “Yugure no Neko” (Cats in Dusk) appears in Japanese. It is signed and dated in pencil by the artist in the bottom margin. This is a genuine handmade Japanese woodblock print. Inagaki Tomoo was born in Tokyo and is best known for his modern-style images of cats. His cat prints are especially hard to find.

Condition: Overall in good condition. There is minor toning on the margins, a small spot along the top margin edge, and a faint mat line on the margins, all of which will be covered when matted. There are tape stains on the verso, as shown. The image area is superb. We recommend having it framed.
