The woodblock print "Komoro-jō Ato" (Komoro Castle Ruins) by Tomikichiro Tokuriki (1902–2000) beautifully depicts the Sannomon Gate, surrounded by cherry blossoms and lush greenery in Nagano Prefecture. The circular and triangular openings in the white wall, known as hazama, were used for defense with arrows and firearms. The Sannomon Gate is now a Designated National Important Cultural Property. Today, the Sannomon Gate, Otemon Gate, and stone walls are all that remain.

The artist’s signature, “Tomi,” along with his red seal and the title, appears in the lower right corner of the image. The print is hand-signed “T. Tokuriki” in the bottom margin. The Japanese title of the series, the date, and the edition number—78/100 (first edition)—are noted in the right margin.

Condition: Overall in good condition with vibrant colors. There are a few faint spots in the sky area of the image, but they are hardly noticeable. I have reduced the price accordingly. Please refer to the pictures. Minor, typical ink smudges on the bottom margin as shown.
