This attractive stencil print (known as Kappa-ban), “Shibaraku” (from a famous Kabuki play), is by Yoshitoshi Mori (1898–1992). It features a bold and energetic expression, and his works are known for their unique strength and purity of line. The print comes with a folder.

Technique: Stencil print (Kappa-ban) 
Paper size: 12 and 1/2 inches by 9 and 5/8 inches (32 x 24.5 cm)
Folder size:15 and 1/2 inches by 10 and 5/8 inches (39.2 x 27 cm) 
Sheet number: H.C (hors commerce), meaning “not for sale” in French.
Date: 1975
Signed: Artist signed "Y. Mori"  on the bottom.
Condition: There is toning and discoloration along the margins, with tape stains on the verso, as shown. These are hidden when matted or placed in a folder. Minor paper wrinkles from the printing process are present. Due to these conditions, the price has been reduced.
