The splendid woodblock print "Matsumoto-jo" (Matsumoto Castle) by Tomikichiro Tokuriki (1902–2000) presents a striking view of the iconic castle 'Matsumoto Castle" in Nagano prefecture. The bold black exterior of the structure contrasts beautifully with the clear blue sky, highlighting its powerful presence and timeless elegance.

The artist’s signature, “Tomi,” along with his red seal and the title, appears in the lower right corner of the image. The print is hand-signed “T. Tokuriki” in the bottom margin. The Japanese title of the series, date, and edition number 78/100 (first edition) are noted in the right margin.
