- Queen of Egypt - The Statue of Nefertite -

A very rare and captivating woodblock print, Queen of Egypt, by Tomikichiro Tokuriki (1902–2000). According to a book written by the artist himself, this print was inspired by a sketch he created during a journey to Egypt—a land that clearly left a lasting impression on his soul. The artwork features the timeless beauty of the Statue of Nefertiti, rendered in an exotic and boldly expressive design.

The artist’s signature, “Tomi,” is just beneath the hieroglyph in the upper left corner of the image. The date, 1962.7, is in the lower right of the image, accompanied by Tokuriki’s red seal and the limited edition number 22/100 in the lower right margin. The print is also hand-signed “T. Tokuriki” along the bottom margin.

This print is a rare gem for collectors—a beautiful and evocative example of Sosaku Hanga that captures Tokuriki’s poetic vision and artistic mastery.

Condition: Overall good condition for its age, with minor paper toning. There is a small spot on the statue's stomach in the image. Minor pinkish toning appears along the bottom margin. Tiny tape residue/stains are present on the edges of the verso, as shown. Please see the pictures.
