- Kōsai (Autumn Glow, Kyoto) -

The delightful woodblock print 'Kōsai' (Autumn Glow, Kyoto) is by Masao Ido (1945–2016). This smaller-format work beautifully captures the vibrant autumn scenery at Kōetsu-ji Temple in Kyoto. The rich colors of the foliage are perfectly complemented by the distinctive Kōetsu-gaki—a bamboo fence named after the artist and tea master Honami Kōetsu, who greatly admired its aesthetic. A stone lantern appears beyond the fence, while the soft shadows of trees on the ground contribute to a well-balanced and elegant composition.
