This print was produced as sashi-e (book illustration) for the book Kacchu Chakuyo no Zu (Illustration of Wearing Armor) by the author Akiyoshi Matsuoka in Taisho 5 nen (1916). The printer was Yasutaro Yamazaki, and the carver was Manjiro Monju. The incredible details and superb colors are noteworthy. This print is composed of two adjoined prints, nicely combined. The title is at the center top, and it shows each armor's front and back. This is a very interesting and educational print for learning about Samurai armor.
