The breathtaking woodblock print, "Ryōgen-in” (Zen Garden at Ryōgen-in Temple, Kyoto), is by Masao Ido (1945–2016). This stunning artwork captures a serene small Zen garden view at Ryōgen-in Temple, The artist's masterful use of sunlight and shadow adds depth and elegance to the composition. This print embodies the sophisticated aesthetic of Kyoto.

This small zen garden is the Tōteki-ko garden is a dry landscape garden located within Ryōgen-in, a sub-temple of Daitoku-ji Temple. Ryōgen-in was founded in 1502 during the early Sengoku period by Tōkei Sōboku. It is considered the oldest of the Daitoku-ji sub-temples and features five gardens surrounding its main hall, the Hōjō. Tōteki-ko garden is a rock garden located in a small space like a gap between the east side of the abbot's chamber and the kitchen. It is said to be the smallest garden in Japan.

Condition: Overall, very good condition. A tiny ink spot on the left margin will be matted out. Minor paper scuffing (from previous taping) is faintly visible on the top and bottom edges of the verso. A couple of faint toning spots are present on the right side of the verso, but they are not visible from the front. 
* Handmade Japanese washi paper may contain bark bits or natural impurities.
