A rare and captivating woodblock print, "Akai Zou" (Red Elephant), by Tomikichiro Tokuriki (1902–2000), enchants with its whimsical charm. The print features a striking red elephant paired with a bold flower in a vase—an unexpected and mesmerizing composition that draws the eye and stirs the imagination.

The Japanese title "Akai Zou" in the upper right margin, while the artist's signature, "Tomi," along with his red seal, is placed in the lower left corner of the image. Along the bottom margin, the print is hand-signed "T. Tokuriki" and numbered "19/100." The words 'Shohan Matsukyu Hyaku no Uchi'—indicating both a first and limited edition of 100—are inscribed in the lower right margin. The image area is watermarked "Toku" in the lower right corner.

This print is a rare gem for collectors—a beautiful and evocative example of Sosaku Hanga that captures Tokuriki’s poetic vision and artistic mastery.
