** ON SALE **

The lovely woodblock print 'Ringo' (Apples) is by Yumeji Takehisa (1884-1934) from 'Takehisa Yumeji Hanga shu' (Collection of Takehisa Yumeji's woodblock prints). This is a very large vertical print with a limited edition size of 300 sheets The print depicts a young woman after picking some apples from the apple tree. The apples hanging abundantly behind the woman in a kimono add to the charm of this lovely print.

In the upper left margin, it says 'Takehisa Yumeji Hanga shu' (Collection of Takehisa Yumeji's woodblock prints). The artist's signature is in the lower right corner of the image with the date '1914'; however, this is a later print from 1976. The publisher's name is 'Kyoto hanga-in, Oedo -ban', the carver's name is "Endo Kokyoku," the printer's name is "Ito Tomoo," there is a publisher's red seal, and the sheet number is on the right margin. A tiny red seal, "Takehisa," is in the lower right corner of the image, probably indicating approval by the Takehisa family. This is a recarved edition by Kyoto Hanga-in.
