The lovely cat print "Nakayoshi no Neko" (Friendly Cats) is by Tomoo Inagaki (1902-1980). It is still tipped on the original presentation paper and comes with an explanation paper. Original limited edition print is very hard to find. Title, artist's name, edition number, and publisher's seal on the presentation paper. Very bold and strong colors.
Inagaki Tomoo was born in Tokyo. Inagaki is best known for his images of cats in modern style. Especially his cat print in excellent condition is very hard to find.

The beautiful woodblock print "Baika ni Uso" (Bullfinch in the Plum Blossoms) is by Shoson Ohara (1877 - 1945) This is a later print from the original blocks. Published by Watanabe publisher. Artist's signature "Shoson" with the artist's red seal, and two Watanabe Seals in the lower right corner. Very soft romantic colors and amazing contrast. The theme of "Small birds in the plum blossoms" is found extensively in Japanese artistic tradition. Absolutely beautiful.
According to the Watanabe publisher, In conjunction with the Daihei Print Shop, Ryogoku, this artist made bird and flower designs for color prints under the name "Koson". In 1912, he changed his name to "Shoson" and produced only paintings until 1926, when he returned to color prints, which have been published in connection with the Watanabe print shop (Watanabe publisher).

Beautiful woodblock print "Secchu matsu ni Oshidori" (Snow-covered Pine tree and Mandarin ducks) is by Ōkyo Maruyama (1735-1795) A pair of Mandarin ducks means happiness in love. The pine tree is a good luck motif in Japan. Ōkyo Maruyama began as a student of the so-called Kano painting school in Kyoto. He became famous for his depiction of natural subjects in Chinese influenced style. Published by Unsodo. Artist name "Maruyma Ōkyo", the title "Secchu matsu ni Oshidori", Carver's name "Unknown", printer's name "Ueba" on the left margin. Unsodo seal on the right margin. Truly heartwarming Mezzotint etching print "Boshi-zaru" (Mother and Child Monkey) is by Japanese artist Koji IKUTA (b.1953). Limited Edition 3/95, dated 2004. This is pencil signed by the artist, dated, and titled in Japanese by the artist. Paper has deeply embossed seal "Koji Ikuta". Limited edition size of only 95 sheets. A truly amazing image. Mother monkey holding her child because a hug is worth a thousand words. Falling heart-shaped flower petals add a very charming atmosphere.
