- Yosame ni Shirasagi (White Egrets in the Night Rain) -

The beautiful woodblock print “Yosame ni Shirasagi” (White Egrets in the Night Rain) is by Koei Hashimoto (1892–1956). This beautiful work captures a moment of three white egrets huddling together in the night rain. Their snow-like white feathers create a striking contrast against the dark background.

The artist’s signature “Koei-ga” and the Uchida publisher’s red seal appear in the upper right corner of the image, though they are very difficult to see due to the dark background. The Uchida publisher’s copyright seal is located in the lower right margin, along with an Uchida watermark on the bottom margin.

The print is beautifully embossed and highly detailed, with skillful shading throughout. The rain is rendered using silver mica ink, further enhancing its elegance and atmospheric beauty.
