The print was produced as a kuchie frontispiece for a novel titled 'Taki Shibuki' (Waterfall Splash) in the literary magazine Bungei Kurabu, Vol. 11, No. 9, published in 1905 (Meiji 38). The artist's red seal appears in the lower right corner of the image.
A woman in a summer kimono is seen washing her feet at the base of a waterfall. The falling water and silk tree flowers create a scene that is both refreshing and elegant. It's almost as if you can hear the sound of the cascading water.
Artist: Shoso Mishima (1856-1928)
Date: Meiji 38 (1905)
