- Rainbow Hair -

Rainbow Hair is a vibrant silkscreen print by Ay-O, an artist widely known for his rainbow imagery. Layered bands of vivid color transform the human head into a radiant, almost sculptural form. The composition combines playful optical rhythm with a strong sense of presence, reflecting Ay-O’s distinctive exploration of color, repetition, and visual joy.

The print is hand-signed “Ay-O,” numbered 106/200, and dated ’73 in pencil at the upper-right corner of the image. It comes with its original folder.

Technique: Silkscreen
Paper size: 11 3/4 × 11 3/4 inches (30 × 30 cm)
Image size: 9 7/8 × 9 7/8 inches (25 × 25 cm)
Edition: 106/200
Date: 1973
Signed: Hand-signed “Ay-O” in pencil at the upper-right corner of the image
Condition: Overall in good condition. The image area is excellent. There is minor toning and a few faint spots on the bottom margin, as well as spots on the verso. Because the print was stored in its presentation folder for a long time, faint impressions have transferred onto the thin paper and the folder. Please refer to the photographs for details. I recommend framing the print to enjoy its attractive image. The price has been reduced accordingly.
