The delightful silkscreen print Otetekomai, Niigata (Otetekomai Dance, Niigata) is by Masaaki Tanaka (b. 1947). This print captures the solemn atmosphere of the Otetekomai dance in Niigata, Japan, with vibrant colors. The sheet number, Japanese title, and artist's signature are hand-signed in the bottom margin. This print is in a smaller format, with a paper size of 9 5/8 by 12 1/8 inches (24.5 cm × 31 cm).

This folk art form has been passed down for generations in the Nechi Valley of Itoigawa and is a bugaku dance designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property by the government. The Otetekomai dance is one of the performances at the Hiyoshi Shrine Grand Festival, held annually for two days starting on August 31st. The entire festival is collectively known as Otetekomai.
