The superb silkscreen print 'Ose Jinja Funa Matsuri' (Ose Fishermen's Festival, Shizuoka) is by Masaaki Tanaka (b. 1947). This print captures the powerful Fishermen's Festival in Shizuoka, Japan, with its amazing seascape featuring fishing boats and the iconic Mt. Fuji. The sheet number, Japanese title, and artist's signature are hand-signed on the bottom margin. This print is in a smaller format, with a paper size of 9 and 7/8 by 12 and 3/4 inches (25 cm x 32.2 cm).
Ose Shrine's 'Ose Festival' is held on April 4th every year, a regular festival to pray for a bountiful catch and safety at sea. It's a traditional festival that has continued since the Meiji era.
