The extremely large-format woodblock print “Midori no Jūtan to Plum” (Green Carpet and Plum) by Mitsuru Hiraki (b. 1958) was printed in 2018 in a limited edition of only 20. The title, "Green Carpet and Plum," evokes the freshness of spring through an abstract interplay of verdant forms, vibrant colors, and delicate circular motifs that suggest plum. The richly textured composition creates a dreamlike atmosphere, while the artist's bold use of color and pattern gives the print a striking contemporary presence. Its vibrant colors and contemporary design brighten any space.

Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1958, Hiraki received his Master of Fine Arts from Tama Art University in 1983. His works have been exhibited widely throughout Japan and internationally, yet they are seldom available on the market, making them distinctive and highly collectible.

Condition: In pristine condition and obtained directly from the artist. There are faint ink smudges on the top and right margin, as shown; such minor traces are typical and common in an extremely large handmade work of this nature. They will be matted out.
