The magnificent woodblock print 'Le Père Tanguy' (Old Man Tanguy-Van Gogh) is by Gihachiro Okuyama (1907–1981). This rare print represents Van Gogh's artwork, "Portrait of Père Tanguy". What's interesting is that it features a background that combines elements of Japanese ukiyo-e. It is a very unique piece where Western and Eastern cultures blend together.
Pencil-signed 'Woodcut by Gihachiro Okuyama' on the bottom margin. Block-sign 'Gihachi-ban' in the lower left corner of the image. Gihachiro Okuyama produced a wonderful woodblock print series of famous European paintings, and this print is one of them. These prints are highly collectible and are hard to find nowadays.

Condition: Overall, it is in good condition, exhibiting age-related toning on both the front and back. There are two drying holes on the left margin and minor paper creases on the margins. Additionally, there is a minor paper scuff on the top of the verso (center).
