This is one of the very popular fish series woodblock prints "Familiar Fishes of Nippon" by Bakufu Ohno. The title is "Ishidai" (Rock Sea Bream) from Art Portfolio OF Familiar Fishes OF Nippon. VOL.2, NO.6. This print is from a series of 72 fish prints that were printed in six parts (12 pieces each time) from 1937 until 1944 by Nishinomiya Shoin. They were 500 limited editions and distributed only under the membership system. Beautifully embossed. Highly detailed with skillful shading. Extremely rare first edition. Amazingly beautiful.
The publisher is Nishinimiya Shoin. Artist's signature and a red seal are on the upper right corner of the image. Carver's name "Fujikawa" and Printer's name "Mitsumoto" with a red seal on the lower right corner of the image. It comes with an original explanation. (It is written in both Japanese and English)
