Wonderful woodblock print "Haniwa to Tsubo" (Earthenware Dog and Vase) is by Toru Mabuchi (1920-1994). "Haniwa" is a clay figure in the shape of men, women, or animals. They were made for ritual use and buried with the dead as funerary objects during the Tumulus period. Beautiful woodgrain background enhances this rustic image. Very charming print.
