- Genke Hachidai Megumi no Tsuwamono ( Kabuki Performance, Triptych) -

This triptych, titled “源家八代恵剛者” (Genke Hachidai Megumi no Tsuwamono), depicts a scene from a Kabuki performance. The actors shown are Ichikawa Kodanji IV as Saitô Gokunitake (right), Fujikawa Kayû III as Yuya Gozen (center), and Ichikawa Danjûrô VIII as Ebizako no Jû (left). It was printed in Kōka 4 (1847).

The title (the actors’ names) appears in the upper portion of the image, while the artist’s signature, “Hanmoto no ōju Toyokuni ga,” is located at the bottom of each print. The publisher is Sanoya Kihei, and the publisher’s seal also appears on each sheet.

Condition: Very good condition for its age, with several minor repairs (mostly along the edges), which are hardly noticeable.
