The breathtaking woodblock print "Seijaku" (Serenity) is by Kazuyuki Ohtsu. I spoke with Mr. Ohtsu about this print. Ohtsu told me that he used aged paper (Kiyoshi Saito era) for these newly released prints. These papers were carefully stored for a long time and he washed them once before printing. He likes the mellow impression this older paper gives. Also, he mentioned that this temple is the Meigetsu-in temple as well known as Ajisai (Hydrangeas) temple in Kamakura, Kanagawa prefecture. One of his favorite temples.
