The humorous woodblock print 'Okujo no Mendori' (Hen on the Roof) is by Takeji Asano. It features a unique black and white bird design. He freely distorted various animals, as well as people, creating a diverse range of images in his Sosaku Hanga (creative prints). This print is also a humorous artwork composed of simplified, bold forms and colors. It is block-signed 'T.a' in the lower right corner of the image. The Japanese title, the artist's signature in Japanese Kanji, the date, and the artist's signature in English are located in the bottom right margin. This modern print looks fantastic when placed in a black frame.
