The beautiful woodblock print "Ouka no Onna" (Woman and Cherry Blossoms) is by Masayuki Miyata (1926-1997) A stylish modern woman stands against cherry blossoms. Pink background and falling petals add a soft and genteel accent to this chic print. Limited edition size of only 375 sheets. Artist's red seal in the right of the image. The Japanese title, artist's block sign, artist's red seal, and the edition number are on the right margin. Publisher's seal "Momose-ban", Carver's name; Okura, and Printer's name; Nakajo on the lower left margin. This modern Bijin-ga print is highly desirable for collectors.
Masayuki Miyata was a well-known Japanese Kiri-e (paper-cutting) artist. His career started as an illustrator for modern publications of Japanese classic literature and eventually became a recognized Kiri-e artist. His Kiri-e style works including woodblock prints and silkscreen prints are very popular. His collectors are worldwide.
