Beautiful woodblock print "Himeji Castle" is by Okiie Hashimoto (1899-1993). Already framed and ready to hang on your wall. Artist's red seal "橋" (Hashi) on the upper-right corner of the image. An interesting view of the Japanese castle during the renovation. Wonderful colors and contrast.
Himeji Castle was built in 1609. It's one of the twelve existing towers in Japan and has been preserved since it was built. This print shows the Himeji Castle during the major renovations in the Showa period. The main tower in the castle is surrounded by wooden scaffolds for a major renovation.
