- Shōjo (Girl) - Limited edition

The beautiful woodblock print 'Shōjo' (Girl) is by Hiroki Oda (1914–2012). This stunning artwork depicts a Western-style modern girl, skillfully rendered using the woodblock technique. It is a truly unique piece and a remarkable find. This limited-edition print, with only 200 copies, was published by Unsodo in 1995. The artist's signature (block-signed) and red seal are located in the lower left corner of the image. The Japanese title, the artist's name, and the edition number are in the left margin, while the publisher's seal, the printer's name (Shinmi), and the carver's name (Watanabe) are in the lower right margin. This modern Bijin-ga print is highly sought after by collectors.

Hiroki Oda, a renowned Western-style painter from Fukuoka Prefecture, was celebrated for his exquisite depictions of Parisian street scenes and portraits of young women. This modern Bijin-ga print not only showcases the artist's exceptional talent but also highlights the incredible craftsmanship of the carver and printer. Together, they created a piece of outstanding technique, making it a highly desirable work for collectors.

This print had been framed, the small caption paper (Artist name: Hiroki Oda, Title: Shōjo, Technique: Woodblock, Sheet number: 158/200, and Publisher's  name: Unsodo-ban) was on the back of the frame. I will include this.
