- Ame no Hi, B (Rainy Day,B), 1965 -

The rare and unique woodblock print “Ame no Hi, B” (Rainy Day, B) by Takeji Asano (1900–1999) beautifully captures a rainy day scene with people holding umbrellas, depicted in bold, simplified forms. The composition feels both simple and nostalgic, yet full of fresh modern charm. In this work, Asano transforms an ordinary rainy moment into a delightful modern design.

The Japanese title “雨の日 (B)”, the artist’s hand-signed name “浅野竹二”, the date “1965”, and the signature “T. Asano” appear in the lower margin. The number 127 (possibly the artist’s design number) is also noted in the lower right corner and along the upper right margin edge.

Condition: Overall, in very good condition. As you can see in the photo, the margins show several ink smudges, which are characteristic of boldly crafted Sosaku Hanga prints.
