Beautiful woodblock print "Jungyo" (Gion Festival) is by Teruhide Kato. Very elegant and sophisticated design. This print shows "Naginata-boko". “Naginata” means halberd in Japanese, and a symbolic halberd is located on its summit. Naginata-boko leads the procession at Gion Festival. Published by Unsodo.
Teruhide Kato had studied at Kyoto Art College. He was a famous kimono fashion designer. When he was 50 years old, he decided to follow his real passion and became a traditional Kyoto woodblock artist. Success remained with the artist. After a gallery exhibition in New York and a book publication of his works titled "Kyoto Romance", he is as famous as a woodblock artist as he used to be as a kimono designer.

The unique Western-style woodblock print "Miss Kobe" is by Hide Kawanishi (1894-1965). This print depicts a modern Kobe girl against Kobe port. Very bold and strong colors. This was later printed in 1979. (posthumous printing)
Hide Kawasnishi was born in Kobe. He never left his hometown. His modernist and exotic landscape of Kobe continues to fascinate people both inside and outside Japan. He is one of the pioneer artists of the Sosaku Hanga movement. (Taisho - Early Showa era)

Beautiful Japanese etching print "Ishigaki" from the Okinawa series is by Hiroto Norikane. Paper size is 10 and 5/8 inches wide by 25 inches.(50 x 63.5 cm) Extremely large size. Absolutely incredible details. The red seal reads "Hiro" which is from "Hiroto". Hand-numbered, titled, signed, and dated by the artist in pencil. This print shows Okinawa Shisa (lion dog). The focal point is the "Shisa" on the roof. Many people in Okinawa put a pair of Shisa (lion dog) on their rooftops. Shisa are wards believed to protect from various evils.

Gorgeous Bijin-ga woodblock print "Hitomi"(Expression of Eyes) is by Kiyoshi Kobayakawa (1899 -1948)*. "Hitomi" (Expression of Eyes) is one of the "Twelve Aspects of Fine Woman". This print is one of Kobayakawa's best designs. Her eyes are soulful and unforgettable. Originally published in 1930. Very fine Fukkoku (reproduction) woodblock print "Awabitori"(Abalone Divers) is by Utamaro Kitagawa. "Awabitori" is one of Utamaro's masterpieces. This is a re-carved edition in 1969. Japanese woodblock print "Ashino kohan no Fuji" (Mt.Fuji from Ashino Lakeside) is by Koichi Okada (1907 - ). Fine Ukiyo-e print "Kabuki Actor: Nakamura Fukusuke" (right side) and "Kabuki Actor: Onoe Kikugoro" (left side) are by Utagawa Kunimasa IV (Utagawa Kunisada III) (1848–1920). They are from the famous Kabuki play " Yoshitsune Senbon zakura" (Yoshitune's one thousand Cherry blossoms trees). Originally they are triptych, however, they are only two prints. The title "Nakamura Fukusuke as Minamoto Yoshitsune" and "Onoe Kikugoro as Kitsune Tadanobu" on the upper left of the image (each). Artist's signature "Baido Kunimasa hitsu" on the upper right of the Nakamura Fukusuke print. Date "Meiji", artist (painter) "Takeuchi Eikyu" (Kunimasa's real name), and publisher "Hasegawa Sonokichi" on the left of the image on the Onoe Kikugoro print. They are rare and beautiful Ukiyo-e prints with amazing colors.
