The magnificent woodblock print "Asian na Table to Kajitsu" (Asian Table and Fruits) is by Mitsuru Hiraki (b. 1958). This piece is part of his popular 'Asian series'. It resembles a floating jewel box in a dreamlike, fantastical space, featuring two large strawberries and scattered small circles. The Asian-patterned tablecloth adds an exotic charm, while the colors and contrast create a beautifully surreal atmosphere.
Born in Yamaguchi Prefecture in 1958, Hiraki earned his Master of Fine Arts from Tama Art University in 1983. He has received numerous awards and held exhibitions both in Japan and internationally. His works are rarely seen on the market, making them true hidden gems.
