The lovely lithograph print "Aoi Sake" (Blue Liquor) is by Yumeji Takehisa (1884-1934). This limited edition artwork features a woman enjoying a glass of liquor alone, with a modern and colorful twist. Her vibrant kimono design, paired with the modern touch of Western furniture, creates a stunning image of a modern girl in the past. This print is part of his popular series "Twelve Views of Nagasaki" and has a limited edition size of only 250 sheets. The artist's printed signature and red seal are on the lower right corner of the image, while the edition number is on the lower left corner. This beautiful print would add a touch of romance to your collection.
In pre-war Japanese media, the expressions "blue liquor" and "red liquor" were commonly used to describe Western liquor.
