The beautiful woodblock print "Uso" (Bullfinch and golden-ball tree) is by Shizuo Ashikaga (1917-1991). Printed on "Uchida" watermarked paper. Artist's seal and publisher's seal on the lower left corner of the image. Publisher's copyright seal on the lower right margin. A lovely flower and bird image with a subtle background.

Shizuo Ashikaga was born in Ehime prefecture in 1917. He is a well-known woodblock artist who is famous for Kacho-e (classic Flowers and birds). Uchida (publisher) in Kyoto published them in the 1950s until they closed their business.
