The unique Western-style woodblock print "Circus Performers Parade" is by Hide Kawanishi (1894-1965). This colorful print depicts a delightful circus parade by the traveling circus. This was later printed in 1979.  (posthumous printing)

Hide Kawasnishi was born in Kobe. He never left his hometown. His modernist and exotic landscape of Kobe and the colorful circus scenes continue to fascinate people both inside and outside Japan. He is one of the pioneer artists of the Sosaku Hanga movement. (Taisho - Early Showa era)

Image size: 8 and 3/4  x 13 and 1/4 inches (22.2 x 33.6 cm)
Sheet number: VI/XV (edition 6/15) Extra 15 sheets were produced after the limited edition.
Date: 1979
Signed: Artist signature with a red round seal "Hide" in Hiragana on the upper left corner of the image and a red square seal "Hide" in Kanji on the lower right margin.
Condition: Excellent condition. A few very minor ink smudges on the margin as shown.
