Beautiful Bijin-ga woodblock print "KISERU" (Pipe) is by Tatsumi Shimura (1907-1980). Limited Edition 421 of 450. Limited edition size of 450 sheets. Carver name; Kentaro Maeda, Printer name; Ritsuzo Sato on the lower right margin. Yuyudo Publisher seal on the lower left margin. Large red seal "Tatsumi Kenin" in the lower margin reads, "Tatsumi seal of approval". Soft bokashi shading on the background. There is an interesting notation about this print in the book on Tatsumi's works. "The hand does not reach the itchy place. The pipe has done the hand substituting of the grandchild. It is not wise to do such a thing with the public..." However, probably this mature woman's gesture looked very cute and sexy in Tatsumi's eyes.
