Beautiful woodblock print "Secchu matsu ni Oshidori" (Snow-covered Pine tree and Mandarin ducks) is by Ōkyo Maruyama (1735-1795) A pair of Mandarin ducks means happiness in love. The pine tree is a good luck motif in Japan. Ōkyo Maruyama began as a student of the so-called Kano painting school in Kyoto. He became famous for his depiction of natural subjects in Chinese influenced style. Published by Unsodo.
