Fine woodblock print "Yoru no Tokyo, Shinjuku (Shinjuku, Night in Tokyo) is by Toshi Yoshida. This print is so well illustrated because you can almost feel the lively atmosphere just from looking at this print.  Personally, I like the gentle lights through Shoji (Japanese washi paper windows and lanterns), it brings a heartwarming atmosphere.  First printed in 1938. This is a later edition. Block-signed "Toshi Yoshida" English title "Shinjuku"(impressed) on the bottom margin. Dated "Showa 13 nen (1938)" and Japanese title "Yoru no Tokyo, Shinjuku" (Shinjuku, Night in Tokyo) in Japanese on the left margin. Later printing "atozuri" and printer's name "Shinkichi Numabe" by pencil on verso as shown.
