Kagurazaka (Kagurazaka, Tokyo)

Wonderful woodblock print "Kagurazaka" (Kagurazaka, Tokyo) is by very famous French artist Noel Nouet (1885-1969). This print is one of Nouet's most popular series "Tokyo Fukei" (Scenery of Tokyo) by Doi publisher.  Dated 1937. This is later print. Artist signature "Noel Nouet" on the lbottom of the image. "Keizaburo Yamaguchi" seal and approval seal on the upper left margin.  Publisher copyright seal "Hanken shoyuu Doi Eiichi, Carver name: Endo,  Printer name: Ito on the lower left margin.  Title "Kagurazaka" on the right margin.  Once tipped. His print looks like pen sketches. This print shows well carved sharp black lines nicely. The interior lights of the house in the dark are very tasteful and heartwarming. The exterior lights add to the inviting atmosphere.
