The lovely woodblock print 'Secchiku En-o-zu' (Mandarin Ducks and Bamboo in Snow) is by Hoitsu Sakai (1761–1828), a very famous Japanese Nihon-ga painter of the Rinpa school. He is known for having revived the style and popularity of Korin Ogata, as well as for having created a number of reproductions of Kōrin's work. This print was published by Tansei-sha in 1983, this print features the artist's signature and two red seals on the lower left of the image. Additionally, the publisher's seal, the printer's name 'Kurazo Yoneda,' and the carver's name 'Sadao Uetani' are located in the left margin. It comes with an original explanatory paper (Japanese only, no English).
This stunning print captures the elegance of Mandarin ducks and the tranquility of bamboo in a snowy landscape. Two Mandarin ducks, symbols of love and devotion, gracefully together by bamboo trees in the snow. Bring a sense of serenity and harmony into your home with this exquisite print.
