Shigaraki Tanuki 

 

The Tanuki statue is a symbol of Shigaraki ware in Shiga Prefecture. Shigaraki ware is very famous and is one of the 'Six Old Kilns' in Japan. The Shigaraki tanuki is an adorable creature with eight lucky meanings, often seen on the front porch of houses and at the entrances of restaurants in Japan.
