The kimono’s stylized floral motif and the dramatic contrast of black and white give the composition a sense of quiet elegance and modern clarity. This design also appears in The Collection of Works by Masayuki Miyata.
A pencil inscription along the bottom margin identifies the artist, title, and date (1981), and names Yasuo Matsunaga as the carver and printer.

Masayuki Miyata (1926–1997) was a Japanese kiri-e (paper-cutting) artist.
