Tomikichiro Tokuriki


The beautiful woodblock print "Kinkakuji" (Golden Pavillion in the rain) is by Tomikichiro Tokuriki (1902-1999). This is one of the "Kyoto Hakkei" (Eight Scenic View of Kyoto) series. Titled "Kinkakuji" (Golden Pavilion), artist signature "Tomikichiro", and small red publisher seal "Uchida-ban" on the upper left of the image. "Uchida" publisher seal on the lower right margin. Beautifully embossed. Absolutely subtle gradations of color add to the beauty of this woodblock print. Very peaceful Golden Pavilion image in the rain with the reflection on the water.

Condition: Very good condition with minor toning. Minor ink smudge on the bottom margin. Toning line slightly visible along the edge of the image from the original presentation folder. It is very hardly noticeable. Once tipped on the top corners of verso.
