The truly serene print "Ine no Yuki" (Snow at Ine) is by Katsuyuki Nishijima. Usually, Ine town is very lively. However, on a snowy day, all doors are closed and they put up their boat on the water. Snow is just falling in the silent town. His masterful woodblock print reflects a nostalgic view of Japan.

Funaya (boat houses) at Ine

The astonishing land-water space created by 230 Funaya (boat houses), which circle along the Ine Bay shoreline, can only be seen here at Ine. The whole Funaya seems to be floating on the high tide, looking like row houses on the water. The boat is one of the significant local transportation in Ine bay.
