Hira Mountains are a mountainous region to the west of Lake Biwa in Shiga Prefecture, Japan. The highest peak is Mount Bunagatake with an elevation of 1,214.4 meters. Surrounded by chains of mountains, including the Suzuka Range, Mount Hiei, and the Hira Mountains, Lake Biwako is a font of rich nature that has inspired many beautiful poems over the ages. Hira mountains have a truly beautiful and dramatic mountainscape.
