This enchanting limited edition etching print "Haru Biyori" (Spring Day) is by Hiroto Norikane. Much as I would imagine one would see in Shirakawa -go village in early spring. The thatched roof of the gassho-zukuri (praying hands construction) style house shades the open doorway becoming the visitor to come in this peaceful home. The friendly cat laying on his mat is ready to welcome us. Sandals on the stepping stone assure us that we will be welcomed. Beyond the colorful cherry blossoms and predominate wood grains of the home a small charcoal fire burns in the traditional Japanese fireplace "Irori" warming fresh green tea. A splendid etching which makes us feel warm and welcome home. Sheet number is 1/100.
