Kunio Kaneko


The charming woodblock print 'Go Go Koinobori (Boy)' is by Kunio Kaneko. 'Koinobori' refers to carp-shaped flags traditionally flown in Japan. During 'Tango-no-Sekku' (Boy's Festival), families often raise a carp flag for each child. This particular print depicts a male Koi flag. Kaneko's koi and goldfish prints are renowned for their attractiveness and popularity.
