She moved to Paris in 1962, where she became actively engaged in the art scene. She received the prestigious Figaro Award (First Prize) at the 10th Japan–France Contemporary Art Exhibition held at the Grand Palais in Paris and the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum.
