Dogwood 2

Hajime Namiki

This beautiful print "Dogwood 2" is by Hajime Namiki who was born in 1947. Absolutely beautiful tree with the gorgeous silver/gold background. Sheet number 172/200. Printed 2001. Long out of print. Signed "H. Namiki" with red seal, limited edition number 172/200, date and the title in pencil on the lower margin. Very tranquil and relaxed mood. Very lovely print. This print is a great find for collectors. Please excuse my poor pictures which do not do this print justice. The silver background is extremely difficult to capture.

The Mayor of Tokyo gave the United States of America the young plant of the cherry tree in those days for several years from 1909. It was the opening of the American dogwood in Japan that it was given Tokyo City as the return favor in 1915 by the U.S.A. and became famous as a tree of Japan and the United States friendship. This flower of the spring is very beautiful, but also the autumn colored leaves and fruit are beautiful also. This flower word is "Please accept my thought".
