Korin Ogata


Beautiful woodblock print "Gunkaku-zu" (Flock of Japanese Red Crown Cranes) is by Korin Ogata (1658-1716). Korin Ogata is a very famous Japanese Nihon-ga painter of the Rinpa school. Originally painted in Edo period (17th-18th century). This print was published by Kyoto Tansei-sha in 1983 as limited edition of 100. Publisher seal, edition number, printer's name "Michio Hashizume", and carver's name "Sadao Uetani" in the right margin. Very elegant and sophisticated design. This classical print fits very well with modern decor as well.

Date: Originally in Edo, this was printed in 1983 
Signed: Artist's signature and a red seal on the lower-right corner of the image. 
Condition: Excellent condition.  Minor paper crease on the top margin edge and minor ink smudge on the bottom margin edge which will be easily matted out. Once tipped and tape residue on the top corners of verso. Please see the pictures.
