Serene winter image of the mountain village in Gifu prefecture. The snow is falling in silence. Japanese title, artist's signature "Tomi" and artist's red seal on the right of the image. Limited edition number and hand-signed "T. Tokuriki" in pencil on the lower margin. Dated "1977" and "First edition" on the right margin. Watermarked "Tomi" on the lower right corner.
Shirakawa is a village located in Ōno District, Gifu Prefecture, Japan. It is best known for being the site of Shirakawa-gō, a small, traditional village showcasing a building style known as gasshō-zukuri.
