Wonderful woodblock print "Ohashi atake no yudachi" (Sudden Shower over Shin-Ohashi bridge and Atake) is by Hiroshige Ando (1797-1858). From the series "The Nippon Mokuhan Gashu" (Masterpieces of Old Japanese Colour prints). The publisher is Bijutsusha in Tokyo. Printed in 1928. (Showa 3 nen)
It was published in 1857 originally as part of the series One Hundred Famous Views of Edo and is one of the best known of Hiroshige's prints.
Technique: Woodblock
Paper size: 7 and 3/4 inches by 12 inches (19.5 x 30.5 cm)
Signed: "Hiroshige ga" on the lower left of the image.
Condition: The print is in excellent condition. Very minor toning and a few very minor foxing on the margin which is hardly noticeable. Please see the pictures. Still tipped on the original presentation folder.
